Gary’s World
An inept vlogger’s search for fame is his undoing.
Meet Gary.
Gary's World is a satirical vlog about a socially inept vlogger named Gary. His devotion to his small audience lead to misadventures around the world where he looks for friends and a place to sleep.
In 2020, I received a Thomas J. Watson fellowship to study comedy and hardship around the world, and take Gary and his misadventures from Amsterdam to Melbourne, from Cape Town to Tokyo, Vienna to Barcelona. Because of the covid-19 pandemic, the foundation has granted this year’s fellows a 2-year deferral period during which they can depart for their travels.
Gary also features in many video series and interactive films, such as Interactive Prom, Father to Son, Nature Hack, the Video Game Video Show, Interactive Therapy, and Interactive Wasteland Doctor.

High Education
Created on a fellowship from Ursinus College, High Education follows Constance Penn (Tommy Armstrong), a neuroscience student with an obsession for homemade study drugs. When he tries a new, unknown ingredient with a set of pills, test subject and humanities student Heidi Wentz (Anika Backelin-Harrison) loses massive sections of her memory. With Constance’s help, Heidi needs to relearn the social conventions of higher education while blending in.
Constance’s professor Sam Doughty (Natalie Sandone) is up for tenure and simultaneously pushed into chairing the department. With an oppressive dean (Robin Brecker) on her neck and a faculty that doesn’t respect her, Doughty must wrangle control of her department, and get to the bottom of Constance’s experiment.
This 16-episode series was filmed on an academic fellowship the summer of 2018 and released in two halves, the autumn of 2019 and the spring of 2020.
